Ever heard of International Coworking Day? (We didn’t think so!) Well, it’s a real thing, and you’re invited to participate. Yearly on August 9th, coworking space operators all around the world celebrate our wonderfully productive and enjoyable way to work. It’s a chance for us in the biz to educate the public the benefits of flexible work options – and we also get to show appreciation to the wonderful people who make up our coworking communities.
3International Coworking Day marks the anniversary of the day Brad Neuberg first brought modern-day coworking into the world. You can still see Brad’s original blog post announcing the first North American coworking space here. Coworking has come a long way since then – with ups and downs, particularly during the pandemic – but the spirit of collaboration and connection is as strong as ever, especially in independently owned spaces like ours.
This year at ACE we will be marking the occasion in a couple of ways:
1 – OPEN HOUSE!
If you have always wondered about coworking, or what it’s like to work with us at ACE, then please come try us out for FREE on the workdays following Coworking Day: Monday August 11th, Tuesday 12th, and/or Wednesday 13th. Day passes are normally $25/ea, but for these three days we are holding a no-cost Open House just for you. Please tell your friends about it, especially any work-from-homers who have never heard of coworking.
Claim a hot desk spot by emailing us at info@acecoworking.ca. Please indicate which day(s) you are coming. (Multiple days are okay too! Just let us know when to expect you so that we are ready with a desk.)
2 – PARTY!
International Coworking Day lands on a Saturday this year, so we will be holding our annual member appreciation event early. On Thursday August 7, ACE Members will be treated to an al fresco lunch and an ice cream social. Plus a few other surprises! It’s our way of saying thanks to the wonderful people who make our community awesome.
This International Coworking Day, we’re not just celebrating a concept, we’re celebrating the real-world impact of community and flexible work. We’ve seen firsthand how an inspiring environment can elevate businesses, and we invite you to experience that for yourself.
